california emission DPFI to MPFI swap
I did a motor and tranny swap on my hatch this weekend. I put a manual trans and a D16 Si MPFI motor in it. It had a auto trans and D15 DX DPFI motor in it. It started right up runs like a champ. Everything is *****! Im gonna have to do some vacuum line work on it, I noticed all the sensor and vacuum junk on the firewall is different and now I have no EGR valve as well. I have the sensors from an Si but I also noticed the plugs are differnt on them... ugh more soldering. Anyone done this swap in cali that can give me some emissions advice, am I gonna have to take it to a referee to pass?
What he said. No need to take to BAR Referee. Your replacement engine is of the same engine family. Use this wording when you take it to the smog station.
If he gives you any grief tell him to look at appendix C and that will explain it to them.
Who told you to go to the BAR ref?

no one did, I was just wondering. I didnt wanna have to go to a smog shop and pay my $50 and then have them tell me to go to a referee. Thanks for the info, im gonna peel the sticker off and take it to a smog shop
