torquing bolts. how do u tell they are torqued to spec?
all these posts about torquing bolts are confusing me. anyways, I'm about to install my clutch on my b16 and just wondering how do I guage how tight I've torqued the bolts to the flywheel?

lol, me either..
the airlines use lube on every bolt they torque, because some engineering brain trust figured out that bolts actually dont torque correctly without lube. granted, this is paranoia, and your fine not using anything.. but it is something i have started doing on my car.
and get a torque wrench or 2, one with ft lbs, and one inch lbs. costs a lot of money, but they are deffinetly worth it.

ebay my brother. Can get some real nice torque wrenches there. Get brandname **** def. for this tool though! not something to skimp on. remember when not in use to turn the dial all the way back down or else it will become inaccurate very quickly. I like the clicker type instead of the ones that have the needle that moves up and down.

if you don't buy a torque wrench i'm going to laugh at you when you come back and tell us your clutch came apart well you were driving.
Sears sells a kit to turn any ratchet into a torque wrench. But thats the only way to tell what you torqued the bolts down too. Its a good investment since every bolt on the car has a torque specification.
