problems with 90 crx si
So I bought a 90 crx si that is loaded with everything I want. Only there are a few drawbacks that I encountered. The main one is a vibration coming from the front end. I can hear the wheels making vibrations like the tires are messed up, but I was told that it is the hubs that are making the noise. Is this really the culprit or is it bad cv joints possibly? It also makes a metal on metal grinding noise as I turn sharply, its worse if I turn to the left but it does it when I turn to the right also. I really need to find out whats wrong and get it fixed fast, it doesn't sound good at all. Any suggestions would be great.
jack it up in the front
grab the wheel at 3 and 9 o clock wigggle it or push it back and forth
if you feel any looseness...bad inner or outer tie rods is whats causing vibration
grab the wheel at 12 and 6 o clock...wiggle it...if that jiggles then its a shot hub...
but i think you have warped rotors or the wheels arent tightened right cuz that metal on metal noise when your turning is very weird
takes the wheels off and bolt them back on going to 80 ft lbs on each lug crossways and drive it again...if it still does it go and see a mechanic with the car to check it out and let you know
