z6 intake mani on y7

Default z6 intake mani on y7

tried searching but can only find threads on the y8 mani swap. anyways, wanting to know what mods i'd have to do for a z6 intake mani to work on my 99 y7. thanks in advance...

You have to tee or eliminate one of the small coolant line that goes to the z6 intake....there is one less nipple coming off the water pump tube on the y7....thats all I had to do to make it work.

becuase it doesnt fit, the bolts are in a difrent pattern, guy who posted abouve me is thinkingof a d16y8 to d16z6 manifold swap

That is incorrect 88-00 d manifolds bolt up....I have a z6 mani from my old z6 motor on a y7 that I built. It fits I've done it.

so block off the coolant passages on the rear of the z6 plenum and that's it? any issues with iacv wires like on a y8 mani?

I know you can block certain coolant passages off but not sure which ones...I just used a brass tee into one of the other line to feed the open passage. There was only one extra spot I needed to hook up so teeing it worked fine.

Your going to run into the same problem, you need to block the IAC on the back of the manifold and run your throttle body.
