thinking about buying a 01 prelude questions!
are preludes quick? it may sound like a stupid question but my friend with a N/A SI killed a prelude with a type s swap, so that kinda worries me. i know the driver has ALOT to do with how quick a car but please help me out and let me know wut you think because i love this prelude its lowered real low with some 18's motegi rims, and a hks exhaust. it has 89k, and the asking price is 9900, but if i decide im interested id obviously try and lower the price by at least 2k. i know the price is below kbb, but thats not wut im wondering about, its about if its worth getting, because i want somthing nice and decently fast. well let me know wut you think, thanks for the help!
lol 1st what mods are done to this N/A SI, did you see this happen or hear about it?
2nd u asking the prelude forum if preludes are quick. well now the majority of us will say no b/c we dont want you in our thread b/c obviously you dont know ne thing about preludes.
3rd What are you driving now? Is that fast? if its not faster then a prelude whats it matter its a step up from what you have now. Your money, Your car, Your dreams.

idk why you need to be an *** about some simple questions, becuase i ******* hate that people cant post one single message on here without getting bashed instead of simple answers, do you think people would even ask qeustions if they knew they wouldnt get helpful answers? why dont you just not say anything instead of trying to make yourself look cool because you know more about somthing then me.
Maybe because once a week there is a person like you. wait theres a thread like 7 under you about a guy asking questions about a 5th gen b/c hes about to buy one... did you read that one? did you search for the other 3275874759827 threads about this? prolly not. Oh and you didnt let us know about this N/A SI that killed a lude.
If you like it, then buy it. The 18s are slowing it down pretty good for one, but you can make it as fast as you want...
A good driver on a good day can push a stock Si or VTEC 4th gen or Base 5th gen to a mid-14.

lol
5th gen Ludes are built realy tough, and feel realy nice when you drive them, it responds well to the driver. Are they quick ? Well...a stock Si will never win against a stock Prelude v-tec. The '00 and the '01 models ( atleast here in Canada ) gained an extra 5hp so it's 205 bhp. It's a fairly quick car. v-tec feels nice when it kicks in, you can actualy feel it as apposed to a Civic. Umm The only downside I could think of is that it's pretty heavy, but then again it's a fairly long car. I guess you could say they are quick in their class, you can take 1.8T A4s and 1.8T Jettas no problem, Celicas etc...

There is no NA intake manifold for H23s. He cold have had a Venom, Golden Eagle, or OBX but those are FI manifolds and would make him slower.

you could make any car faster, its all about your time, planning and building. do u want to buy a car with mods already, u know its always better to start from scratch. but its your decision. goodluck with it, everyone here will always have your support.
P.S
that was very nice of me today.

i believe hes reffering to the Si civic. And definantly the gears/cams made the biggest difference in the N/A powered civic. ive been reading on here alot about gears and they seem to make a good bit of difference.

I wouldnt venture to say a stock 4th gen SI could do mid 14's...

not in today's market, but they continue to be a good car for the buck. Especially being able to buy a car that was once 25-30k for 5k used(granted you don't live in CA)

I like preludes because of the fact that they look good, are comfortable, and are fairly sporty. If you buy this car for the pure joy of speed, you may be dissapointed.
one thing to consider, is that it still provides one of the best crash protection from a family of small honda vehicles. honda didn't really succeed in making this car fast, but they accomplished safety.

yeah, it's worth getting. it's decently fast for a heavy car. its definitely nice. its a nice DD than anything.
but you talk like someone who likes to race.
if you want to go fast buy an eg shell with a k20 or h22a swap.
