Coolant leak?
I finally replaced my radiator a few days ago and no leaks to be found. Fast forward to today and I noticed a leak that seemed to be dripping from the thermostat area. When my lever is set all the way to cool it leaks, when it's set to max heat it stops.
Up till the point of my radiator replacement, I had always left my lever on the heat side and hadn't moved the lever to cool for a few weeks. Does this sound like a simple hose problem? If so which hose would it be, I don't see any visual indications of where the leak came from when looking down into the engine bay.
TIA

bumpity bump...
sorry I also drive a 4th gen w/ jdm h22, but don't think that should matter... I was going through my helms and saw theres a bypass hose. Would this be the culprit? I just don't see any leak spots, it's so wierd; maybe i need to look at it from under my car?
It was a huge puddle under my car I figured i'd see something wet.

well you can check your hoses that go to the heater core. but if its dripping off the thermo housing, then its eaither the oring on the water pipe, or its the radiator hose where it connects to the themo housing/.
matter of fact there are alot of hoses back there. get the biotch up on some ramps and let the car idle and get nice and hot, it will build up some coolant presure and then you should find you leak

Oo wtfbbq.
I drove around all day today between work and school. Few miles before I got home I switched the lever to cold so I could just peak at the leak when I got into the garage... No more leak?
Checked on my car 30 mins later... still no leak. How peculiar.

Okay, parked at work today and saw steam coming out from under my hood. The culprit reared its ugly head out. It's the hose that goes from the side of the head, then down under the tstat housing and towards the firewall (has a nice tear near the nozzle area). Is this the heater inlet hose? Coolant only runs through this when I set the gauge inside the car to max heat correct?

I don't see which hose it is on there. Am I looking at the wrong section?
TIA
