Default Check Engine Light

Anyone know how to clean the intake manifold caked in with carbon?
Its clogging the egr giving me an insufficent egr flow

ummm clean the EGR ports. find one by using the search button and remember to clicked on archived

But what year you doing it on? It helps.

79 Accords don't have EGR systems, maybe you need to file the points flat

remove the intake and spray it with carb cleaner, you might have to use a screw driver to get some of the carbon off.

use some kahkah called PB blaster and scrub with someone elses toothbrush, never use a wire brush

PB Blaster is some tuff stuff but I would stick to using it on rust and use some carb cleaner on carbon deposits.

Have you used PB Blaster on carbon buildup? just wondering if it actually cleans it up.

What year Accord do you have?

If you need a tutorial on how to clean the EGR ports, take a look in the Accord FAQ sticky, there are links in there that'll show you how to do it for 90-97 year Accords.

yeah thats what honda dude has said in like 5 differnt threads for 6th gen sticky throttle bodies, its pb carb cleaner or something...

btw is there a guide to clean the egr stuff for 6th gens cuz i could really use the extra w/e it does if theyre clean, gas mileage? i think one dude said the gas mileage went up a little bit on his gf's honda when he cleaned those...

I got a personal message from him that he was taking a point away because I'm "always being stupid and never helping anyone".

Funny my DIY webpages are in the Accord FAQ thread though.
I guess he expects I should actually do the work for people, and that would be 'helping'?
