Aight, So I have been researching the EGR valve removals and have seen that many people have said that you will and that you wont get a cel if you remove the EGR and I think I have figured out when you will and when you wont get a cel. With that being said, I have decided that I want to block off my EGR valve and just leave everything pluged in like it normally would be to avoid the cel.
My reason for wanting to block off the EGR Valve is because I think that my valve could be stuck open or disfunctioning in some way. The reason I think this is because if I am trying to go up a hill and I give the car gas...after about 10 seconds of giving it steady gas, the CEL will come on.
My question is: Which block off plate is the best one in order for me to still be about to mount the EGR back into the factory spot.
I saw some on CP Motorsports and also on KMS.
Just wanted to know if I might be on the right track as to finding out if the EGR is the reason I am throwing a code or not. Even if this isnt the problem, I would still like to block the EGR off. So any input is needed!!!
Thanks
Anthony

yo, Im doing mine today and its going quite smoothly. If you get the KMS like I did you wont be able to put the valve back on over it. Its like really thick. You could always make a plate out of thin aluminum kinda like the guy before me did.

hope that helps

why spend a bunch of money on an ECU right now, then have it basemapped to the H22 just to block off the EGR? I can simply put a plate there and leave everything plugged up...and so far everything that i have read seems taht i can do just what i want and it should be fine. i just need to find a thin enough plate i am assuming.
also to get the EGR valve off, is it easiest to remover the Valve Cover?

I recently finished my H22 swap in my 4th gen. I blocked off EGR with the KMS plate. Its like $27 shipped. I am running a p06 converted to p28 specs and tuned on Crome by John Cui himself. p06's go for like $40. Chipping with a H22 basemap is like 75 bucks and a "street tune" is like 120-150 bucks around here. Not too expensive. Tuning costs the most. No CEL either.
