(And Actual Theft)

 

Tired of getting revved on by stunnas with 3 foot aluminum wings.

Tired of the constant worry about it not being there when I go to drive it.

Tired of the constant worry whenever I park it outside of the garage.

Tired of my back hurting on long trips.

Theft/vandalism doesnt concern me greatly. I just happened to want a different car. The ITR is the best value (for the weekend warrior) in its price range, but I dont remember signing a contract when i bought the car that I wouldnt sell it without the approval of h-t.com .

Also, I am nervous that the resale value of the car and interest will drop considerably when/if the RSX-R makes it here.

 

I guess they havnt heard of insurance. INSURE YOUR PARTS and keep your receipts!!! If your car gets stolen, then you will recieve some or all of that money back. Trust me, I know first hand. Then if your car doesnt get recovered, start a new project. Dont let theives run your life like that. Its YOUR LIFE, do what YOU want, not what others dictate. peace.

Really? I really like the seats on long trips...

 

I think the point some of the owners are trying to make is that even if insurance covers the theft it is still a very stressful event, not to mention the disruption in your life. What if the car is stolen at gunpoint? On top of that insurance will only cover the value of the cover, not the replacement value so getting another R may not be that easy. And even if the car isn't stolen you end up paying for the cars that do get stolen/wrecked with the high insurance premiums.

Having to worry so much about theft and vandalism takes a lot of the fun out of the ownership experience. Kind of like having a girlfriend who's hot and works at a bar where guys are constantly hitting on her and you know they can probably get her. On top of that she gets into lots of fights. Maybe you can deal with it, maybe you can mitigate the risk and hassle, but if not you begin to wonder if its worth it when you can get another great girl with less drama.

It is sad when we can't own what we want because of criminals. I sincerely hope law enforcement steps up its efforts to break up these theft rings so we as consumers don't have to own nice cars in fear.

 

Well if you sell it you won't be getting another R now will you.

Insurance companies are just as bad as the car thieves themselves...

 

no one knows for sure if the dc5r is coming...not to mention that ITR's classics for the import as well as performance world -- resale values are only being affected due to the theft...check how hard it is to find a toyota 2000gt or even a datsun 240z in really good condition...they have high resale values because they like the ITR are classics.
