Which B series for more Power With a Built head?
I'm a turbo guy so this is new to me. My friend is building an all motor car and we were wondering if there is a real performance difference between a JDM GSR with a built head or a JDM Type R with a built head. We have the option to buy either and are wondering is its worth it to go type r or stick with Gsr for the built heads. Any insight would be great. Thanks.
ITR has higher compression pistons and has better rods (or at least they have a nifty 'R' cast into them and the bolts are dimpled to be tightened with a stretch gauge instead of just torqued) The crank is supposed to be slightly better as well.
If you don't feel like tearing apart a bottom end then stick w/ the itr. Go with the gsr if you plan to tear it down and build it later on.

Why spend the extra cash on the same block if you plan to rip out the pistons and cams anyway? I vote GSR.
