Default Scraped and Dented

Hey guys, I've actually been hanging around here for a while but never actually posted. Anyways, let me get to the point. There are still piles of snow that turned hard as rock where I live. While I was backing out earlier I ran over a small block of ice/snow. At that moment I heard the most horrifying sound, you know that sssckerrrchhhh sound. So now, right underneath the passenger side door there is a pretty long dent and the paint has been scratched off.

So I was wondering if getting the OEM side skirts would be able to cover it up. I will post up pics tomorrow, it's pretty late right now.

Probably depends on exactly where it got dented. I.E.: if it got dented where it would push against the skirt, or where the skirt adheared to the body, then it probably would need to be fixed. Also, if you scraped off paint, make sure you get it covered up to avoid rust.

My suggestion and personal opinion is to fix the damage first; don't just cover it up.

Damn! Um, I believe the adhesive strip goes along the entire top of the skirt, so it may have problems adhering to the area where it is dented to the top of the body panel. Yeouch! Get an estimate on fixing it before thinking of buying the skirts, would be my opinion. Good luck!

haha more like .01mph... actually I was right next to a huge pile of snow that was basically like rock. I thought I had some ground clearance, but I guess I was wrong. To make matters worse, as I drove home that same night I ran over a pot hole that was pretty much car width and then some.

The enviornment has been pretty crappy around my area, I know some other people who messed their car up as well.

Thats has got to be one of the worst spots to dent. It's on a small gradual bend, which will make it a bitch to pull out. There is no way to get that fix with paintless dent removal thats for sure. Sorry to discover your predicament. I hope you can fix it inexpensively.

Fixed!

Good luck getting THAT fixed. I agree with CRXRageD, that's a terrible spot for a dent....especially one that big.

HFP side skirts will cover it but it wont work. Theres a bracket that mounts to that part of the car that holds the OEM HFP side skirt in place.

Didn't know it was that cold in VA now-a-days. Sorry for your troubles, but it just looks like you're going to have to bite the bullet on this one and get it fixed.

I hope you're right! I'm going to get an estimate this week. I actually just realized that the pic makes it looke a lot worse than it is. Hopefully it won't be too expensive. Thanks for all the input guys
