Default Vtec Controller, Good or Loose Power?

i have the sfc vtec controller, i set the vtec 4500rpm bcoz i have a auto trans, but the car chokes sometimes. I put it today to 5500rpm and it runs fine. Is it ok to put the vtec higher? or Lower?what should be a good setting? On power or acceleration basis? any info will help.

You need to dyno your car to find the optimal VTEC crossover point.

You have a 5th gen auto?

Swap in a manual. Take out the AFC.

If your motor is stock, keep your vtec engagement stock. otherwise, dyno your car, and see where you need to put it.

You vtec crossover should be smooth when you dyno it. So when you power starts to drop off thats when vtec should engage

if it is chokeing try leaning out the mixture.
or use the unmatch function and lean tha out too. dyno, dyno, dyno, and adj timming, and cam gears then the vafc isnt that bad. but if ur going for max hp go stand alone or chippable ecu. vac is the hack method but you can get them for cheap sometimes

Dont give him ideas, or he might blame you for blowing up his motor with bad advice. I would take it out if you dont know what your doing and you obviously dont. Stand alone is the only way to go for a proper tune, next is piggyback then chipped ecu, chipped ecus tend to be great ***** of crap imo. VAFC is a piggyback not a hack retard, its not that much cheaper than say Emanage, which has a few more options.
