Default Exhaust Piping, Muffler input, output.. Backpressure, info needed

I TRIED TECH/MISC section
and FI section

didnt get much help
this is my last resort..

so any input would be great!

I think the current piping on my car is 2.5 or 2.75 right now, i havent been able to jack the car up or crawl under and measure...

The current muffler i have on there right now is some ebay brand.

A close friend of mine gave me his RSR exmag exhaust, (the oval shaped one).

Would i be ok to use that muffler?

Overal my question is

Would my car have performance problems if i used 2.75 piping with a 2.5 muffler , or 3' piping with a 2.5 muffler?

i'm worried about backpressure..

to save on money and increase flow would it be better to go 3' to the rsr?

thanks

boosting 7psi, dont know if that will help..

i posted it in the fi section

no one helped..

Yes you would have problems. Adding a smaller piece to the end will cause backpressure. The least backpressure possible with a turbo is a good thing. RSR is chambered too isn't it?

you do not want backpressure. you want to keep exhaust velocity as high as possible with no turbulence. keep it 3'' all the way back if you're boosting. this leads to slightly quicker spool and bigger hp potential.
