Default b17a

I need some basic info on the b17a. I've some people say that's basically a destroked b16a and that any b16a parts will work with it...is that true? what is aftermarket support like for the b17a?

EVERYTHING from a b16a or a b18c will work on the b17a.

everything? you're telling me a b18c intake manifold would fit a b17 head? i believe not

btw.. to the OP.. the b17 is just like the b16a. same exact head. so if u need upgraded parts u can look into the b16's

i wouldnt spout off mis-info there...

most parts B-vtec engines can be swapped with no modification.

the b17a engine is a stroked b16.

Ok ok you got me. The dual runnered b18c intake manifold will not work on the b17. But damn near everything else will.

how about nothing internally from the bottom end(rotating assembly)of the b18c1 engine will bolt into the b17 with out custom parts. the only thing that is the exact same is the rings and main bearings.

the only thing a b17 has different from a b16 are the crank and rods. things like pistons, cams, valvetrain, etc. are straight swaps.

this pistons wont fit without modification talk is nonsense.

yea and im talking about everything on the engines(you stated everything)

the pistons dont need reboring you just need to shave 1mm off the small end of the rod, or 1mm out of the wrist pin area of the piston.
the crank will fit but with a deck plate, custom pistons, or custom length rods. (theb17a/b16a have a short deck height then the b18c/r/b16b/b20/ls blocks)
the timing belts are different

im just clarifying a few things.

Op there is a good aftermarket support for the b17.
