Default Ice and Winter Storms ftl.

So, The Type R is in the garage hibernating n' stuffs.

The 94 LS is the Junkar / DD of choice.

I left it abandoned in the drive way the past 3 days waiting for the snow to be overwith while I carpooled with a buddy.

This evening I began digging the snow off her to find...

The entire back hatch of the car is shattered with a nice hole in the side. Has anyone heard of this happening? I guess from the weight of the ice or whatnot?

Now I have to search for a new rear hatch glass.. anyone know where a good place is and how much this fiasco is going to cost me?

Man, honestly... and I'm not trying to pick on you guys, but how the hell can you live in that $hit? There is no way I could deal with that every winter. Sure it gets warm down here, and sometimes down right hot but I'll take that any day over that ice and now crap.

Snow FTW.... until you play in the snow you don't know what you're missing. Yeah it sucks, but you can't appreciate the spring and summer without the shitty winter months.

It sounds like either it was caused while chipping the ice/snow off or somebody else broke it.

agreed, when it's cold outside I can add layers. When it's hot I can only take so many off until I get arrested.

yea but like JonD said...you can really appreciate Spring so much more after freezing your *** for months. Besides, it gives you a little variety. Who wants a warm Christmas ?

there is no way weight of the snow and ice did that. is it possible it got plowed in by a snowplow? my civic hatch was hit by a snowplow and blew out the back window and dented the roof once when it was parked at a mall during a storm.

and F all you **** that cry about winter snow and ice. I drove my beater thru a 3ft pile of snow at 20mph last night and it was awesome lol beating the **** out of your beater in a big snowstorm FTMFW!!

i dont mind the snow or the cold, i hate all the road salt that is used. it destroys the paint with chips and causes rust.

but in reguards to the OP's question, you can either find another new hatch, or even a damaged hatch with good glass and have it switched. my buddy just had his hatch glass done(thanks to some bored kids being off school and daddy's 9 iron). he paid 60.00 for the install because we had a damaged hatch here with a good glass.

Hmm, so you think getting a whole new hatch from like a junk yard or something will be cheaper?

I was also thinking of getting brand new hatch glass for my R, and moving the glass from my R over to my beater (the tint on my R is on "the dots" and it looks bad) anyone know how much this would cost? thanks

RTW DC2R - I think I had a crack in my hatch glass and water got in there and refroze and thats what caused it, no way a plow or a golf ball or anything hit it, it was in my driveway under 5 inches of ice.

Call an automotive glass shop in your area. They will come out to your location to replace it. This is what they do. They're usually not that expensive, either.

Cars can get piled up with many feet of snow and ice without problems.

Agree with all of these.

I couldn't imagine a warm Christmas. It just wouldn't feel like Christmas.
