got an 89 dx and the check engine light comes on, but the ecu isnt blinking any from the led. any clue why that is. as far as i know you just turn the key to on and watch through the sight hole...right???

 

anyone???? i read that no codes being shown that the ecu might be bad, but would the engine drive or even start with a bad ecu?

is the car running bad? i think i read that a cel and no code can be an o2 sensor. but im probably wrong.

Could be faulty wiring as well.

 

runs fine, just idles high like i think 1200-1300rpms. and sometimes stumbles taking off from a light, but when the check engine like is off. i dont know. anyone??help! its an auto if that makes a diff.

 

im no expert but that sounds like an o2 sensor to me.. but wait for more responses before you spend way to much money on one.

 

maybe its your fuel injectors ..mines doing the same thing. try using some injector cleaner.
