i got a price quote back for $690 parts and labor good price??

the clear bra would cover side mirrors, hood, front bumper and grill.

 

Here I got quoted for $850 to do practically the same job. So yours looks good to me

 

I was quoted $400 by the service manager at my dealer (and that's how much I paid). The business manager (guy who I signed the papers with) had orginially quoted me at around the same price you said....$690. Don't pay that much. Get it down to at LEAST $500.

 

We are an authorized 3m isntaller for there paint protection film

we would install a full kit (hood, bumper, side mirrors, door edges, door cups, rear trunk piece, and ill also throw in a headlight kit) for $550 this is our wholesale price. dealers in our area charge anywhere from $850-1500 depending on what kind of car, profit margin etc...

we did a g35S the other day and the dealer added $1295 for the kit sold it over the weekend

your not local but if you would like a full kit, which includes a lot more then what your getting through the dealer let me know. we use a plotter and computer program to accuratley cut our kits. i can sell you one for $395 + shipping. it can be installed for $1-200 by a professinal installer in your area

For the record, I think this means $100-$200. I don't think anyone will install it for $1

TRE_, could you possibly post some close-up pics of the film? My dealership here is partnered with some minor companies and doing the 3m protection is something they offer for $400 (when you buy the car), so I'm looking into this option when I do my trade-in.

Yea it was some guy from out of state that would come by every once and a while and do 3m **** and pinstriping ... he hooked it up and did a clean install.

One thing worth mentioning is that most 3M nose masks(installed by a "Certified" person) carry a nice warranty against peeling, fading, etc. Also the mask is waxable and in my case covered up/filled in some small rock chips/scratches I had on my hood, bumper and fenders. I saw it after my buddy was all done and it looked like the front end got re-painted... If it were possible I'd get my whole damn car covered with this ****

3m film carries a 5 yr warranty and if installed by us we carry a lifetime warranty.

like tre said you can wash and wax your car like normal but you do not want to use any harsh abrasives over the film. such as a heavy cut polish

I'm extremley happy with the setup... especially w/ the protection of the hfp lip. i've heard cinders/rocks hit my front end since the bra was put on and there is no visable damage upon examining everything

As for peeling I honestly dont see it happening and even if it does its warrantied. The stuff is stuck on there VERY well.

 

i believe tre's kit also covers the hfp lip.

you can wash your car 24 hours after the film is layed down. you can wax it like you would your paint. you just dont want to use any harsh polish abrasives. we find that straight alcohol and a microfiber towel buffs any surface scratches or swirls right off the film.

3m carries a 5yr warrnaty against peeling, flaking, cracking, bubling, yellowing, cracking etc...

i have been installing the film for a few months now. everything from boxster, x5, bentley convert, audi rs4...the film is very very sticky and so long as it is installed properly you wont have any problems

 

Hey im curious..will the clear bra protect lets say a fbr front lip from chips or only small paint chips?.. Basically how strong is the film? ...

I want to get my cars body repainted cleaned up etc..and thought of the clear bra to protect the investment..good idea for protecting aftermarket parts?
