Default For those w/a Skunk 2/Blox / AEBS.. a question concerning the CAI/SRI

I have a modified AEM CAI that is no longer really an CAI (I'll take a pic later so you knwo what I mean).

I've read that with the skunk 2, or really any single runner IM for the GSR, the intake pipeing (say AEM CAI) won't work or fits poorly.

What have you guys done?
Buy an ITR intake? Or modify what you have?
Or do you just deal w/the crappy fitment?

I've bought a Skunk 2 IM and I'm getting all my ducks in a row to install it and ITR cams on my GSR and get it dyno'ed and tuned! I can't wait!!!

**Edit**
All I lack now is the headgasket and the other misc gaskets I need for the top end!!! I'm so freakin stoked

Alright.. I'd do that.

Have you seen how a CAI fit's or a SRI fits, built for a GSR but used on a Skunk 2 IM?

Oh and I've got up w/max.. Great guy I'm gonna have him do my tuning at the dyno in town

I have a skunk2IM with an EBay SRI and there are no fitment issues.

If the intake is for a GS-R then it's going to curve/bend downward to mate up to the GS-R's lower throttle body location. If you use an aftermarket intake manifold and a GS-R intake, you will probably have problems like the intake hitting the hood or something, because the throttle body is much higher than it was with the stock GS-R manifold.

Don't try to ghetto-rig a GS-R intake onto an aftermarket single-runner intake manifold. Do it right and get an LS or ITR intake.

Glad you dedcided not to ghetto rig it! I went with stock itr to Comptech Icebox when I got my blox im installed. Why not go some more aggressive cams ? You know you will be wanting more sooner or later!

Because I don't have the CR to make the best use of hotter cams.. It woudl be a waste. Not to mention I"d have to spend at least another $200.00 on so-so valve springs to take em.

ANd I can always sell these and buy bigger cams leter if/when I decide to rebuild.

This should keep me happy.. I"ll have a real nice lil setup I believe.. I'm shootin for high 160's to the ground. I think thats pheasable.
