ok i have a 1993 gsr and i personally like the 94-01 style alot more...
ok i am looking to buy another integra and i am looking to boost it what model of the integra would be best to put the basic I/H/E and some internal upgrades with a turbo on it i was thinking of buyin a ls with low miles and boosting it?

 

I/H on a boosted motor ?

any integra is a fine candidate for boost

 

what intake and headers are bad for boost... i havent read up on it yet because im obvisoul not sure wat teg im goin eith first? i want to run alot of boost and wouldnt that be easier on a ls?

please at least learn the basics then you will realize how stupid that sounds.

 

ok i understand i prob sound stupid but i was gonna research everything after i realize what i wanna do and my cousins car has a intake and its boosted... but is the ls the best one to boost?

where is best place to learn basics of boosting?

 

you don't use intake or headers on a boosted car cuz the header is taken up by a turbo manifld and the intake is charge piping from the intercooler

you can use the intake piping but not the filter, he has the aem piping running to his intercooler charge piping

buy a 94 ls and rebuild it... then boost
or just get a ls swapped into my 93 and then boost it?

 

buy the dc4 for cost savings and boost it, but make sure its healthy or just make sure your gsr is healthy and boost it, its dumb to take that one out to put an LS in

 

soo im thinking buy like a 95-98 ish years and then make sure engine strong. like compression tests leakdown tests and if there good it should be good to boost it on like 8-10 psi?

 

nate ill have to look but im pretty sure he has a full intake withthe filter but thx for the help man im gonna look in to boosting a 1995-97 or so after i get one

 

94-97 are all new styles. if the intake is full then explain how the compressed air is getting into the intake?

 

ill take a pic of it and out it up here this weekend lol i cant remember but i want to do the earlier models of the new style cuz i dont want to pay like 10 grand then another 5 or so for boost soo ill buy like a 95 or 96 with low milage then just get a tune up and tests done

 

its about impossible to find low mileage 94-97's, if you can stay with the 94 or 95. it uses the OBD1 ECU system so you don't have to get a converter like you would 96+. you can pick up a 94-95 for 3-4k

Please build your B17 and turbo it; it'll be much cheaper than a swap. The only way you have an "intake" on a turboed car is having a filter over the open turbo to keep debris out. You don't want to buy a turbo header ahead of time because it usually will match or come with the kit you buy.

2nd gen GSR's are probably more rare than type R's and the b17 is said to have near perfect r/s ratio compared to the b16 or b18

That's alooottttt different than an Integra. That car came boosted from the factory, and car manufacturers set it up quite a bit differently than when you boost a car with an aftermarket turbo. Factory turbo cars still have an intake arm and filter box that runs to the turbo inlet. Your cousin just got a CAI that's made to replace the factory intake, but it still runs to the turbo inlet.

On a Civic or Integra when you put a turbo on it, with typical pipe routings, there is usually not enough room to run an actual intake pipe between the filter and the turbo inlet, except maybe just a short one. Many people just stick the filter directly onto the turbo inlet.

Also, a CAI doesn't make much difference on an intercooled turbo setup. The air coming in through the filter is still going to get hot when it reaches the turbo, no matter where the filter is located, and it's still going to pass through the intercooler to cool it down, and then go on to the throttle body.

 

umm yeah like everyone said wtf? i/h? for turbo? why not upgrade intake manifold, get a decent turbo manifold and like a 2 1/2 inch or 3 " all the way back?

 

ok well i want to do a ls-t but in theory whats faster a gsr-t or a ls-t?
