Default Couple of pics of my car and a story

So tonight these two kids that i've seen around come running up to my car and tell me that thieves are watching my car.. He says that a couple guys in Hunts Point(Bronx), and a couple more in Bridgeport, Ct., were asking them about the white R with the CF hood .. He tells me i should be careful (no Shat), and be on guard.. But then he starts telling me that they know how to get around the Autolock now so it won't help..So i'm thinking, how the hell did he know i have the Autolock?(my car was an attempted theft already)..and then his little girlfriend starts asking me what kind of kill switches i have..........All this coming from a dude with a dropped Civic hatch with full ITR interior, seats and all...And he's asked me a few times already about selling my rims to him....

What do you think, are they just giving me a heads up, or are they the thieves??

garage your car and start removing the ecu when you leave. sounds like they are coming.

as for not trusting the civic hatch or any one else you meet randomly, i wouldnt.

his girlfriend asking about your kill switches.

Thank them for the heads up, but don't trust them. You didn't tell them what kinds of securities you have, did you?

His girl asking what kind of kill switches you got is kind of suspicious. She might have asked out of pure curiousity with no bad intentions, but still...

Sorry but unless your car is chained to something solid or you sleep in your car, it's as good as gone.

Garages are a must for this car sadly.

Sounds like thieves to me... I mean why would they warn you about thieves and then want to know where all your kill switches are?

By the way, nice pictures, your R is really clean!

It surely does not smell good. Be careful who you talking to when ppl ask about your alarm system.
May be you can contact your local police station and tell them about those kids.

If you can't put your car in the garage for the moment......I suggest go get a car cover....it will slow down thieve a little (they don't steal what they can't see) and give you some time to react (call the cop).

NY thieves suck. Whenever I go to this girls house the kids that live under her are allways checking out my car. They have asked me to pop the hood and I just say its stock and leave quietly. I know there checking it out because a friend got his system stolen from right infront of her house but there was no proof that the kids did it.

So next week I think im going to leave my windows cracked and car un-locked and then watch and wait. Then kick some *** before they take my baby and I have no proof.

I say we get them before they get us

I would disconnect your ecu nightly, or get a kill switch from the fuse that goes to your ecu, when you shut off your car, flip the switch killing the ecu and making it impossible to start. I might also install lojack and put a big azz sticker on your window that says your car is equiped with lojack. The pager alarm is nice, or you could set your current alarm to its most sensitive setting. I hope you can sleep well, I know I couldn't. good luck

Beautiful car! That sucks.. sounds to me those kids are the thiefs...

If I were you I would strip all the seats out till u get a garage. Get a backup battery for the alarm and a hoodlock. Id still put the autolock maybe they were just BS you... Anyway keep your car safe!!

Disconnecting you ecu doesn't help anything..it makes it easier for them to steal it. One less thing that they have to worry about.

Most thieves, in order to get around the immobilizer, will carry spare ecus so that they can just plug in and drive away.

The thing that I would do, go into the breaker box under the hood and grab a fuse that controls something big. That would probably be the most effective thing I would think.

But then again, some thieves have the ball to flat bed your car...

scary stuff

By the way, if you look just below the door on the sill you can see where it looks dirty..The car was just washed and driven only 1 mile. For some reason this mysterious dust always appears in that same spot every time..I thought it was just brake dust but it only appears on the drivers side..Anyone else esp. with a CW ITR notice this happening?
