Greetings once again to you S2000 owners. I am once again the proud owner of a new 2007 GPW S2K with red/black interior.
As a few of you may remember, I had an 2001 Silverstone, but it was stolen from my driveway 9 months after purchase. I promised myself, I would get another one when I had a real job.
That time has finally come, and I picked mine up about a week ago at VIP Honda in Plainfield, NJ. I know I paid a bit more than normal, but whatever. I love the car.
Here are a few comments/opinions. I haven't been in one, so some of my comments may seem "noobish" so please bear with me.
Performance: I like the 07 much more than the 01 I had. The VSA really keeps the car still when it's wet/slippery out. I haven't done anything crazy, but it definitely keeps the car in check. With the VSA off, and cold tires/weather, turning even at 5-10mph slips the back end out. I feel the torque much more than the 01, and MUCH MUCH more than the crappy spare Civic I was driving. Even in 6th gear on the highway, I can easily pass any car. I have just hit the 700 mile mark, so I have only touched the upper rpm range once. I couldn't feel the Vtec hit at all, but I wasn't really paying attention. Vtec seemed to be more pronounced on my 01, but I did have an intake. I could hear and feel it more. I'm sure I will have more time to investigate as I play with the upper rpm range more and more.
Interior: I love the two tone interior. I have wanted that combination ever since I saw it in pictures. From the various generations of the two-tone interior, I feel my combination is the best. Of course, that's just my opinion. The leather on the seats are a slightly different material/texture, that Honda says will hide stress, wrinkles, and usage marks better. The center console area also looks much better than my 01. Initially, I thought having red carpet was a really bad idea, but it's not bad at all. It's pretty dark, and doesn't look that hard to maintain.
Exterior: I also like the exterior of the newer model S2K's. The front bumper, rear bumper, headlights, etc. The wheels were a nice upgrade too. I have always wanted a white car, now I have one.
Modifications: I don't know about later, but right now I would like to keep things simple. I want to first get the OEM front lip and full coilovers. After that, if I can find a good price on Work Meister S1's, then I will get those. Perhaps a cold air intake. Who knows what I will want in the future. Perhaps all those down the drain, and I'll go for a big *** turbo.
With that said, here are some pics. Apologies, as I only took a few pictures so far, it is way too cold here in New Jersey to be outside for more than a few minutes.
Hopefully these pics work. We-Todd seemed to have revamped their procedures. Will edit if they don't work.
My 2001 Silverstone. Only picture I got before it was snatched away.

Just picked up from the dealer.

Interior shot at the dealer.

At my gf's house.

Butt shot.

Enjoy.

Thanks! Yup, for 2007, only GPW and Silverstone have the option of the two tone interior. The other colors only have black. I always wanted this combination, and now I finally have it. I want the lip, but I wasn't about to pay Honda $780something. I can find it online for significantly cheaper.

Will do. I want to get some of those seat locks, and then start doing some personal theft deterrent like kill switches, etc.

Thanks again. Actually, I was a lurker on s2ki for several years, even when I had my Silverstone. They didn't let me sign up using Hotmail. I just joined yesterday under the same username.
Anyway, some more pictures from today. The snow in the NJ area was pretty crazy. All ice. I attempted to leave my gf's house today to go to work, but the car went nowhere except sideways. Eventually, I'd fall off the edge of the road, so I gave up. Took my nearly an hour just to get back this far up the driveway. Looks like I'm working from home today.

Nice S i love GPW ones. Only thing i hate is the 2 tone seats.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Same here. Though I wouldn't say I HATE them, but I preferred my '00 full-red seats much more.
Anyway, looks nice. I don't know if it's because the weather's been warmer lately, but I've been missing my S a lot more lately.

Congrats on the beautiful car. I have really grown to love the 06+ wheels more than my 04's.
I haven't had the chance to drive an 06 or 07, but I would like to in order to compare virtually the same car only with the electronic throttle and vehicle stability.
Your new baby needs a cover and a garage for the next few months. That's how my baby blue enjoys winter; hibernating.

First off, beautiful car.. Id prefer the tan black combo but everyone has there own likes..second..if your ap1 got stolen out of your driveway, what makes you think this one isnt gonna go missing also? Im sure you have some sort of security device..right?
yea where do you live? im in north jersey and i know the dealership you went to because i went to college in that area. i have the 05 silverstone with the same red on black interior.
