Default Tires. Need some opinions.

Choices are Falken 615's or BFG kdw2.

I need to run a 215/40 front and 245/45 rear so I can run safe with a 17x7.5/17x9 +45 rims.

Price of tires isn't the major concern, its fitment.

I hear the 615's have thicker sidewalls and wear very fast for how much they cost. I hear the BFG's grip well and the sidewalls are more narrow, but do they perform as well as they look? I dont want to fall into the trap and get the BFG's because of the tread pattern, I want to know they honestly are the better buy.

Anyway, these are my two choices, im open to others also.

i've had the kdw2 and the performed great for about 6 months or so then they were ****.

even with about 50% thread left the performance just decreased drastically. they wore too quickly also.

im now on Bridgestone Potenza RE750s and so far they are great but im only on 3 months with them

also why not run wider?? im running 255/40R17 on the stock 04' rears and they fit perfect. whats the point of going with a wider wheel if your gonna run stock sized
tires?

and actually now that i got the 255s i wish i would have gone wider.

I like the new falken 452's I have them and they are good for the price. I don't get the R compund tires cause I think its a waste of money for me cause Im running a crazy off set that doesn't even let me run the proper tires.

all in all I give the 452's a

I know some are gonna hate them but thats just my opinion !!

The TA-KD will suit your needs better since rain season is about to leave.

If you are into track days or autocrossing, the Azenis are proven to be a full second faster per race minute over the KD, but the KD would last twice as long as the RT-615.

cars slammed and im not raising it up. 215 is 100% the way to go with a +45 offset. ill have to run about -2.5 camber to make this work.

as for the rear, i might end up with a 255, but for now im looking into the 245. I still have to roll my rear fenders.

Car is daily driven, no track yet, its not where I want it yet.

What are you going to be doing with the car? Tracking? DD? A little of both?

RT615's I had were great for track/auto-x (I had them on my ITR). For street duties...I'd get someting else. I'd hate to drive in the rain or any inclimate weather in those tires.

I had RE730/750's, and for daily driving, I liked these tires the best. I'm sure you will see more life out of these than with the choices above.

I've driven a few different cars with those bfg's. Loud tire at the limit, traction was decent. Expect a little more road noise from them. No experience with the falken's.

well they don't make a 245/40/17 for the 615's, so they are eliminated.

Im starting to think re750's now.
