CTR block?
what up to all the honda heads!! i'm currently running a b16a2 engine and i'm planning to switch to a CTR block, the block will be a complete block with the pct pistons, r crank etc. my ? is will my b16a2 head bolt up to the CTR block with no piston-valve clearance problems...i also want to use a 2-layer head gasket to up the c/r a little bit...will this also cause any piston-valve clearance problems?

Why not go with a GSR or LS block instead? Can gain more compression without using PCTs, same price (maybe even cheaper) and most importantly, more displacement/power

from what I remember a b16a and b16b are similar in block design, but interally they're worked differently to create better and smoother flow. If your going to use a b16a head and put it on a b16b block, then no it's won't be the same as ctr. Both parts are unique to ctr especially the head.

They are not similar. A B16B block itself is the exact same as a GSR/ITR block. The only difference is the internals. The reason why the B16B is a 1.6 is because it has a 77mm crank unlike the GSR/ITR that has a 87.2mm crank, the bore on all B-series blocks (except B20) is 81mm. Also the rod lengths and pistons are obviously different.
True. A stock B16A head will not = a B16B, but one with decent cams and a same port job will.

how much is an ITR complete block? because i think 1k for a complete CTR block is a good deal...plus the b16a head is not totally stock, i'm running ITR cams, dual valve springs and retainers...

Screw the ITR block - go B20V
B20 longblock= 600
B20v kit = 200
Oil pump, water pump, timing belt = 160
DIY labor = free !
Well theres some other stuff too thats optional:
headstuds, girdle, etc.

wow over priced b20 long block. what about the head? lol

I think you forgot the aftermarket pistons, rods, rings & hone. Stock B20 piston valve-reliefs don't fit oversize VTEC valves...

go to the junk yard and pull an ls block out, you are gonna love the torque alot more. you are going to appriciate your car a lot more. Why you are messing w\ b16s idk, there not fast unless ur racing some grandma in a buik. I made the mistake of going b16 now im saving for a b20b block. Y not go ahead and speend the money for the torque??

it will be okay..you might as well stroke it to 1.8L
I think you can use a GSR or ITR crank & rods..
stroke it to 1.8L...the B16B are much different that a B16a from what I hear...---I could be wrong..
