Door chime, HOW TO GET RID OF IT
WHen the Door is open on ACC the car makes the BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP sound, how can I get rid of it? I've tryed to find it under the dash, but I can't find it. I can hear it, just can't pin point it.
Any ideas?

that is indeed an annoying sound...!
i havent removed anything but heres what i did..
what makes the chime go off is a black L shaped tab on the inner door
jam...well theres a screw that fastens it to the jam... loosen the screw
Pull back the little L tab and then proceed to tighten the screw back in
and catch the L shaped tab under the screw.. my explanation isnt the best..
youre tightening the scres with the tab in the 'closed door' state..
but what u want is to either keep that tab in place ( like the door never opened)
nothing hits, and all is good with this method. granted the screw may come
loose from driving rattles, but locktite makes a quick fix.!
hth!
.. OR cut those damn wires back there!

the beep comes from the seatbelt warning thing connected to the rearview mirror... take it out and disconnect the wires. and if you ever want it back, just plug the wires back in.

seatbelt warning thing connected to the rearview mirror...
i donty know for sure, but he wants to get rid of the door
chime, that turns onwhen the doors open. its a simple switch
located in the door jam...a two wire circuit....open the door, it ring
close the door it doesnt ring..
what do seatbelts, and rear view mirrors have to do with this.??
lol... i know exactly what he is talking about. The beep comes from the seatbelt warning system. Disconnect the wires and no more beeping. Why ghetto rig the door triggers when you can just disable the noise?
BTW I am 100% sure on this... my rex didnt come with the seatbelt warning system, and i never had a beep. I recently purchased one and installed it and i now have the beeping noise when i open the doors(and yes, its annoying!)

Tryed it, there are two buzzers in the car, one for having the door open under the dash, and then when your seat belts are disconnected that is up in the rear view mirror.
It is on the backside of the fuse panel in a small milky white casing. You will see a small buzzer inside there. It is soldered onto the board, but just pull it off. You dont want it on there and Im sure you'll never want it. Once you think you've found it, just make sure by turning the key on and opening the door. Then, pull it off.
the rear view mirror piece is located right in front of the rear view mirror on the ceiling. pull down the casing on the ceiling right behind the mirror and you will see the harness. unplug the harness, eliminate the noise, and smoke a victory cigarette.
lol i guess u learn something new everyday..
well mine is ghetto rigged and i like it just fine
disconnecting the wires, and having that latch stay in the
'closed door' state, both get the job done.

It only does it when the key isin the ignition. Inside the keyhole, when you put the key in, it pushes on a little lever that engages the noise. You can remove it by getting into the d=steereing column and it has a small screw on the top.
Be aware that if you have an alarm system that triggers when your door is opened, you can't mess with that L shaped door switch...

find the key in ingntion switch wire I think it is green/white and cut it at the
connector that goes into the white box at the fuse box
no more beep from key in ignition
then splice wire from headlites to wire coming from the white box and you get
headlight on warning

i pulled the L-tabs back, and put a little stopper in there to keep them in the "door closed" position using the screw right there. And i also opened up the rear view mirror area and unplugged that connector.
