Default fluid leaking from clutch pedal....

in a 93 eg... while vacuming i noticed a black grease stain on the carpet, right below my clutch pedal. i looked up and there is some sort of grease or oil coming out where the clutch pedal comes in from the firewall. has this happened to anybody? does anybody know what i should do and what the problem is? thanks.

mine has been like that for a year, same year 93 si hb. I just keep an eye on the fluid and top it of when it gets low. I'm wonderiing if it allows air into the lines?

Well in my case i know it's a blown seal but i'm not sure if you can just replace the seal. I'm sure a new master cylinder doesn't cost much.

there is only one line. and it doesn't matter if the system is completely free of air, its just the clutch.

Yes air can effect your clutch.

its a rod and it might be loose or stripped, undo it, use teflon tape and adjust properly to your likeing
so what would you suggest. you're suggesting not to buy a new seal but to try to fix the old one?

just of curiosity, what kind of hydraulic fluid have you been using?

I've bee told my a number of different people that Honda OE fluid has some additive that preserves the seals in the master cylinders. Using a non-Honda fluid can allow those seals to deteriorate over time. My car has 130,000 miles, never anything but Honda fluid, and not a leak in sight.

Had the same problem. I bled the clutch and problem solved. It might not necessarily mean the clutch MC is broken, mine is the original.
