Default Supercharging my 01 EX, 5 spd--advice?

First off, I am no noobie to cars (at least hondas) I've been a part of 3 engine swaps (d to k series, and d to b series) I have also been a part of one of he first ever d17 turbo jobs, full salvage/fabrication job...car still runs today--daily driver @ 7 psi.

With that being said, I have recently driven a turbo charged mustang gt (2006) and the linear power has me drooling. Grant it, I can't really get on the mustang train, but I like the idea of a daily driver with some *****!

Therefore, I am trying to design the first supercharged (that I know of) d17.

The job will include a P&P (stage III) job on a vtec head, walco 255, and the basic bolt ons. I can't really think of too many other things that need to be done--

The actual design will be in the d16y8 JR supercharger pulley modification. I have studied my car, and I think there is enough room to make one fit--and since you can already swap a d16y8 manifold in place of a d17, I figure the SC should fit just fine.

I am probably missing some vital stuff, so I ask the H-tech gurus on this one...

Can it be done?

Thank you ahead of time

it will be a lot more custom work that u are expecting, for gains that arent nearly as good as a turbo.

Props to doing something original

But not props for spending to much time and money to MAYBE get 170whp.

Just get a cheap turbo kit, and have 200whp. If u have the $$, build the head and go for 250+

What do you think I'm missing?

I've done the measurments, and it looks like everything will fit...I might have to manipulate the pulleys, but re routing radiator hoses shouldn't be a problem...

Any ideas?

How about the strut tower blocking the belt from getting back there to get the SC pulley into the belts? That strikes me as a big one to miss and it didnt even take a ruler to figure that out.
Thats the main reason jackson bagged it... you cant get a belt back there.
Your bets hope would be a shaft driven Vortech, but they're so useless you might as well turbocharge it, you'll gain double the added power from the same amount of boost and there's no parasitic loss from the engine having to drive it.

You've all made really good points, and I think some of these may be unavoidable...

However, I can't really give up yet...I'm gonna take a look again at the specs...see what I missed, because I thought I took the arms into consideration...

Thanks everyone!

the whole 'anything is possible with money' argument is getting old. it's not always the money, what the hell ever happened to practicality?
