A helms manual.

Tools. Engine lift.

A knowledgeable friend to help with the swap.

You really need to just search and do research on the topic. There's TONS of info on it.

i have had both i have a b16a swap right now in my 99 civic ex pulls hard and runs like a champ, and boosted my d16y8 engine years back ....its a pain in the *** if you have no idea what your doing or dont have enough knowledge about turbos and how they work. the turbo was way cool though it had plenty of pull and power thats if you get your ecu dynoed/tuned properly, its a must if you dont wanna pre-detonate your engine. its really all preference if you like d-series then go boost that thing but if you wanna scrap that and go with a b-series do that.....both are about the same time frames and really easy to do if you know what your doing. if you decide to go boost quick rule of thumb never use ebay's turbo kits they are useless and are very poorly made go with known turbo brand. oh and other things you will need if you want a more safe turbo set up is bigger injectors and fuel rail and fuel pump, if you have the cash intake manifold with bigger throttle body, and of course to build your bottom and top end if you want that engine to withstand a good amount of boost. so really its all up to you and how much cash you have to spend on your boost build or just swap a b16 in your ride....

You need to learn how to use Honda-tech. There's an entire forum for swaps:
