Realtime type R question?
They are allowed to change the final drive when they change the rim size. It is usually used in wet versus dry conditions and depending on the track layout.

in speedvision touring car class, you can only run 15"or 17".
I'm just wondering why they are running 17'' SSR comps? on the realtime type R's
isn't 15'' faster?

It's too bad that Toyo won't let the cars use their RA-1 tires. Those are much better for the track than street-performance T1-S's. However, it's all about marketing...Toyo wants to promote the new T1-S, so the race cars have to run on street tires.
The Realtime Racing web site says that the cars used to race on BFGoodrich G-Force tires.

They run a weird 17" size too. 225/45-17. I guess they need the shorter side walls too to get some better handling out of the T1-S tires. I wonder what that did to the gearing too....
