Default 2002 Honda Civic - Looking for advise on upgrades.

I have a 2002 Honda Civic SI that I am interested in doing upgrades to. It has about 60,000 miles on it and I have just installed an Alpine audio system on the vehicle. So as far as stereo system I am set. I'm not looking to turn my car into a street racing machine by any means but I enjoy my vehicle and enjoy driving it.

The first thing I want to do is get new 17-inch rims and tires for the summer. I hate the appearance of the stock ones. There seems to be a lot of good places online, but I cannot decide on what would look best (car is silver). I do like Montegi quite a bit. I don't really like any of the chrome wheels I find. I also know I don't want something really low profile, my last set got scuffed on the edges like crazy. I want my rims to last!!!!

Secondly I am interested in lowering my vehicle. I don't want it to be aggressively low, my last SI scraped the payment far to often. I am in Nebraska so we do get snow quite a bit so I have to still have the ability to get around in the winter since I can't afford 2 cars right now (I may have to chance my stance on that and buy a junker). So any advise on a coil over kit or anything like that would be great. Something with a lot of room for adjustment might be what I’m looking for, something that could go low or be adjusted back to something almost like stock.

I'm also interested in a ground effects kit. I do like some of the sport packages that were available on the 03-05, so something not to big. I would probably do this along with the lowering kit since they will go hand in hand for how low the car will be. Here is a nice example http://world.honda.com/news/20...b.jpg

I'll put in a new air intake. Any recommendations on brands or experiences would be great.

Any other recommendations for under the hood would be great. I've always contemplated tackling a turbo but I haven't ever had the guts.

Any who, I'm at work and I keep getting calls so I should end this.

Feel free to leave recommendations even on things I didn't list. I'm open to everything.

So many bad comments, so little time

#1. MOTEGI IS CRAP. They are one of, if not the worst wheel manufactorer EVER. Plus EVERY 16 year old with 500 bucks has a set.

I suggest getting a nice rare set of wheels, that might not be in your price range, so it might be cheaper to get something by Rota( still not the best maker) or enkei/konig.

If u do have $$, look into some gramlites, volks, there are so many choices.

Im gunna stop now because i see u own an Ep3.

Please go to the correct forum, this is for 01-05's NOT INCLUDING THE SI.

I'm sorry I'm new to this site. I feel really dumb asking this, but what is the correct forum if I'm in the wrong one?

Traklites are a good wheel. But id still never buy them just because i dont trust any motegi product.

Motegi's are garbage. The only rim series that's worth anything at all, is the Trak-Lite's. But, even then, for what you get, they're WAY overpriced.

Thanks. I just saw Acura RSX and assumed that wouldn't be the right one. Thanks for the advice on Motegi. What other brands have something like the track lite? The lighter wheels.

A lot of manufacturers make lightweight wheels. Start by looking on wheelweights.net
