Default b16 tranny.......no tag......which is it?

I have a cable b16 tranny that i just bought along with my b16. There is no tag or vin# tag on it. Is there anyway of telling which I have. Or at least what gearing is in it. Like how many times will the axle spin if I spin the input shaft around ten complete turns? Or something like that. It isnt in the car yet, so I cant go off of rpm/mph Any ideas?

Most B16 engines come with a Y1 tranny (jdm) but then again I could be wrong.

it sounds like it is not an LSD tranny--check where the axles go in, look for a divider. if there is a little piece in there, it should not have an LSD. other than that, all you can guess is that it is a B16 trans, which has much more desireable gearing than an LS. (for an all motor application.) check out ff-squad.com for the gear ratio's.

you said it came w/ the motor..which b16 is it? i believe w/ the B16 w/ first number being 5 (civic/crx sir) you get the Y1...with the teg B16 the first number after b16 is a 1 (Xsi) and i think you get a YS1 with that. if your tranny is LSD, it will be engraved on top of the tranny, and you can look where the axles go in and see all the way through, like the other guy said.

Yeah, I already knew it wasnt LSD and the motor and trans was bought from a guy who had the swap in and wrecked his car. So any trans could have been bolted to it. The motor is an sirII. So obviously I didnt get the tranny that was with it because it would have been hydro. If it helps any the input shaft is 24 spline and is slightly larger diameter than the normal b16 input shaft. I know this because I ordered a clutch for the b16 trans and it is too small in diameter to fit over the input shaft. If that helps any.....

Actually the 92-93 tegs come with a slightly larger diameter spline then the b16 trannis do. So I believe I have the 92-93 JDM teg XSI motor(grey plug) with YS1 cable trans(non-lsd) Sound right?
