You should be able to manually close the moonroof. I believe there is a little plastic **** that you pop off on the headliner just back from the rear view mirror and can crank it so i have been told.

It's true. There is a funky tool that came with the car that fits in there and you can crank it closed. As to why it's not workign to start with.... who knows. Bad switch or motor or ground maybe?

I imagine you have to pull off your headliner to replace the motor? My damn moonroof is making noise because its unaligned i believe so it looks like that is my next project along with a new motor.
