Default car surges at idle :-( and cant figure it out...

like the title says finally got rid of all codes on my friends mpfi swap and the hack job that was left behind from last owner....now car wont idle worth a ****. Like if I hold it at 1500 it stays there as soon as I let it go back down to around 750 it starts surgin like crazy, Like as almost has a vacuum leak somewhere but I search everywhere on it....but also when I take the tps plug off the throttle body shouldn't it change the idle at all???cause when I did it there wasnt no diff with it on or off!

check your idler screw. It could be all out of wack. Mine kinda did this once and I just went under there and tweaked it alittle.

idler screw is the thing underneath that requires a wrench and allen wrench right...if so I tweak with that and no luck still...

Hmm , I wanna say your AICV took a shat but you said you had a mess of a mpfi swap so there's alot that could be wrong. Are you sure youve completed the swap right this time around ?

i had a bouncy idle in my car after an IM swap. bled the coolant 10 times, checked for vacuum leaks, deleted the fitv, cleaned and replaced the iacv. finally i decided to set the idle to spec (was at 1000 before) and the problem went away.

disconnect the iacv, set the idle to 750-800 rpm. reset the ecu and see if it's better.
