i have a 92 hatch that had a d15b7 nonvtec i just put a JDM d15b motor in the car it is running really good but i dont think vtec is working i had a check engine light on so i ran the codes and got code 21 vtec selanoid will that make vtec not work so then i took the whole vtec unit off and ran + and - power to it to see if it clicks and it did i hard wired the vtec to the ecu and i am sure it is wired right what can i do to fix this

my car is throwing that code also. still trying to figure out what is wrong with it. took out the vtec solenoid, clean it, put it back on, but check engine light is still on. bump for some help!

 

did you wire the sensor directly to the ecu??

 

didn't do any wiring. got a d16z6 engine swap into a vx hatchback. what wiring/changes i need to do?

 

using a si wiring harness and p28 ecu
