Why EG shocks/struts?
I saw that someone had EG struts on their EF when they lowered it. Why? Are they a shorter stroke? Are they bolt in?

More EG/DC2 stuff out there to choose from. All you need is the EG/DC2 front strut forks and the EG/DC2 suspension pieces will bolt on perfectly.

I was gonna put EG suspension on my EF and they said that the JDM suspension doesnt work....not sure if anyone heard this...but yea they said it wasnt possible....any info?
yah i got the JDM rear lower control arm on my DX 91 cause im running the tanabe sustec dampers from japan. The civics and CRX's in japan came with these LCA's but not in the US, i dont know why..but they do..but really youre luck beacause these "EYE" type LCA's are found on ALL 88 civic and CRX's....when honda first brought the 4th gen civic and CRX's they were ALL japan spec rear LCA's....Also, inlinefour.com sells them ...i think a pair is $120...errr something.
Theyre also lighter than the shackle type LCA's found on the 89-91.

i use tein ha's off an ek-9 with ef forks and 89-91 rear lca's, works fine
Also, did you shave down the bushing in the rear to get the EK stuff on the rear LCA? The EK rear fork is narrower and it won't fit over the dc2/EG LCA (and EF I believe).

And, in 1988 all Civics/CRXs had the JDM rear LCA. in 89 they switched to the USDM style because the 88 LCA provided too much oversteer for the US market. Th e88 LCA (or Type R) LCA will bolt right on an EF or EG.
i pressed in the bushings from ek lca's on my ef lca, i didn't want to trim the bushing.....and i thought i had ef forks on, but now that you mention it i might have da or dc ones because previously i had gsr struts that i got from a wrecker and they came with the forks, but i want to know, is there other forks that i can use because my ek teins are almost all the way to the bottom and i took the helper spring out and it still wont sit anywhere near as low as my friend's eg hatch that has the same setup, i would like to raise the spring and put the helper spring back in just in case they bottom out (good ol' Canadian roads) thanks.
Get 8" or 9" springs for your Teins and ditch the helper springs. But no, no way to lower the car anymore because the EK/DC/EG teins only have so much adjustment on the threaded perch.
Plus, if you go too low, you'll shorten the stroke of the shocks so much that they'll blow out sitting too low.
The EG/DC2 forks actually make the car sit a little higher in the front. If your DC2/EK/EG suspension can't compensate enough, then there is nothing much you can do short of getting EF suspension or a different kind of DC/EG/EK suspension.
And I think I'll do the EK bushing trick on my EF forks.

I have two sets of Type-R shocks/springs + whole front suspension in my garage but investing 110$ in '88 LAs to make my car drive like **** is nothing smart.
88-91 with stock Integra suspension (even ITR stuff) will look like a rally car, especially in front because you need to use the front forks. Even ITR springs on 88-91 shocks will be a high-rider.
The best bet is to sell/trade the ITR stuff for some EF items.
