just out of curiousity someone on another forum was saying how tilted hoods. like jacked up in the rear a few Centimeters could make your car overheat, if your not running with ITB's. i disagreed with him. i know this is a general question, but i figure you accord tech's would have the knowledge to give me the right answer.
the same air passes through the rad. it just doesnt circulate as long inside the engine bay. So, the short answer is, the car will not overheat due to the hood being raised.
The technique is referred to as "shimming" the hood. The concept behind doing so was to 1) allow cool air to rush into the engine bay and force hot air out 2) to improve aerodynamics. I had my hood shimmed on my old Accord for ***** and giggles. Doing so will do no damage to your vehicle though I doubt you will notice any performance gains... it's mostly there because you know it's there and you think it's cool. Grap a couple of metal washers from the hardware store and just make sure to line your hood back up before you slam it shut.

Old muscle car guys used to do this to get hot air to exit the engine bay, along with creating a vacuum- cold air coming in, hitting the carbs, and any excess (hot) air gets pulled out. It won't make your car overheat

why not just take off the weatherseal on the back of the hood/frame windshield deal, the neon guys do that some, only prob as with shims, is if u get steam under the hood, u wont be able to see where ur going supposedly
