Default single cam vtec help,

just like the title reads.

i'm ready to get my stock 89 engine out and decide to go single cam vtec

can some one guide me to on the rigt track

what do i need other then the engine (lo)

engine mounts?
flywheel (checked)
harness ?
linkage?
tranny?

if you use it how are you going to get it in and what are you going to do about the coil on plug system? seems like it wouldnt be worth it for a 110whp d17..

rebuild your stock engine and make it vtec it will pull better then that one. ha ha.

You know, I seriously stared at that picture and could not figure what the hell that was until I saw Mr. Speaker's post. You know, I'm one to foster creativity but this swap is NOT economically reasonable, nor is the power output worth the hassle of going through the install.

hahah man i felt so stupid wondering what that was. I seriously stared at it and was dumbfounded for a good 2 minutes until i read a comment related to d17's.

lol same here...for a second when i saw that throttle body facing up and him talking about his stock 89 motor.. i almost **** myself thinking that was the newest b2 in the world lol

Um for starters the saying "Don't try to reinvent the wheel" applies here. There are plenty of different ways to go to "swapp an engine" but most people would say stick with OBD0/OBD1 B series and D16's.

get d16z6 or a6 or get a ZC single or dual cam... all good motors.. just convert from dpfi to mpfi and thats it.. if you go obd1 motor, use the different map on the tb, and the rest of the harness(minus the injectors) fits right in. motor mounts and all that **** is ok..
