Default dizzy questions-is this my problem?

my car keeps throwing codes for misfires, originally all cyl2 and "manufacturer ignition control system" today it also threw cyl1, cyl 4, and random cyl misfire. i have never changed the dizzy cap or rotor. i looked at it and all the prongs are white (i assumed this is normal), and the rotor's tip looks jagged (not smooth to run finger along) and a little rusty on the contact edge. i dont have pics but could get them if i had to. can those prongs get bent, and how hard is it for the dizzy to stop working? my dad said thats probably not the problem, because he says. that the current will still jump even if the prongs are bent. the codes are not thrown all the time, but rather once every 50 or 60 miles. any help would be great! thanks guys.

if you have the dizzy apart take out your igniter and have it checked. Most dealers have a checker, maybe parts stores.

whens the last time you did a tune up? it sounds like you are in major need of a tune up go through do the plugz, wirez, cap, and rotor. it might fix your probleam. if not your dizzy might be fouled and might wanna look into getting another one. my friend had the same probleam and all we did was do a tune up and evry thing was ok so yea just try that first and if it dont work come back i will do some research to see what else it could be.
