ye, the bolts that attach the shift linkage under the boot are loose or may be gone. jack the car up, take a look right under the shift boot. youll probably need 2 i think size 12 bolts

looks like it might be 26 but i'm not sure.

There are 2 bolts under there and i'm pretty sure that they either fell off or are very loose. One of my bolts fell off and I bought a replacement from autozone. I still had one of the bolts though so I brought it in and got a matching one. I don't remember what size it was.

hmm auto to manual swap, yeah that could be part of the problem.

I'm not sure if the bolt holes are already there for the shift linkage or not when you do a manual swap, but I'm guessing they are. Just get under the car and look at the shift linkage at the end where it bolts to the car (where you see the #26 bolts and the #18 bushing) and see if anything is missing.

did it ever work normal? it sounds like you are missing both 26's and the linkages are just sitting there. 19 may be gone too depending how long you drove with no bolts but it generally stays on there pretty well. you shouldnt need anything else tho.

yes, it was working normal for a good 5-6 months. after i got my car back from the dyno run, it came back like this and i didnt really notice it until i tried to reverse.

so, all i need are the bolts... i jack my car up and see if i can see anything.
