i ran a 14.512
hey guys.to start off with...here is my mods, 94 si, usdm h22a1, h23 trans, apexi vafc 1 (untuned), aem short ram, bpi flowstack, k&n 6", arospeed header, testpipe, 2.5" exhaust to a 50 series flowmaster...oh yeah and a fidanza ss.
i ran a 14.512 which was my best and my worst was a 14.669....do these times seem good?? i had a green 96 vtec which only ran 15.1 which sucked..lol..i think 14.512 is great. But i am wondering what you guys are runnin with about the same mods as me.

i really would like to know the 1/4 mile difference in the h23 trans VS the h22 trans.

With the H22 trans it has shorter gear ratios which would mean you would accelerate quicker.

i know it has shorter gears but i am wodnering what is the 1/4 mile time diff between the two....
i will clean and then paint my h22 trans real nice and install it next saturday...i know it'll be better but i kinda wanna know how much of a gain i am lookin at by changin the tranny...BTW, both my trannies are usdm and non lsd
...
i wish i could afford a m2b4 (i Think thats the code) jdm lsd trans...lol..dont we all.

im not sure how much of a difference it would be...it depends on how far u drop out of vtec, if u do. but either way i do think the h22 trans will give u a little better time (maybe liek .1-.2)
u have a nice trap speed on the 14.6 run...and ur drivin was great on the 14.5. on the 14.5 u trapped lower but got a better run. anyway, to compare cars, we both basicaly have the same mods except the exhaust (i have stock cat, rsr exhaust, and dc header). i also have pullies which dont do much and no flywheel, but i have an act clutch. anyway with those mods i got the best time of 15.1 with a trap of 93.
that shows the difference in gearing and producing about the same power...the 15.1 run was with an f22 tranny, the worst tranny for an h22.

hmm this kinda backs what i was saying to some friends. what have u changed with the vafc? b/c we have similar mods minus the bpi stack, and ive only run in the 1/8th. my best was 9.6 but i told them i think i could do a lil better. im on pos tires right now which im thinking is my biggest draw back. but nice times.
Not bad at all... I had a fully tubbed Accord with an H22AM2B4 with SRI/test pipe/catback/pullies and was running 14.2's at 17psi (tire pressure) on the stock 205/60R15. I was pulling 96-99 trap speeds with 2.1-2.3 60ft. I was baking the tires all the way through 2nd gear though and catching traction bottom of 3rd. The biggest ordeal about running the H22 tranny is that extra gear shift at the end of track; it can cost you a tenth of second if you're not all over it. You'll most likely drop another 1/10th or so your next time out having a better feel for your launches. Good Job!
Great times!
I have similar mods, most are in my sig but Ill list'em anyways because a lot have changed.
Ebay Short Ram w/ 9"x6" K&N filter (No flow stack, but i do have a custom cold air induction thing goin on
)
Greddy Header w/ 2.5" collector
Resonated test pipe
Custom 2.5" mandrel bent stainless piping to an OBX 2.5" twin loop muffler
Forbidden Short Shifter
Self Tuned VAFC II, it could be better but its getting there
Rota Circuit 8's with 205/50/16 G-Force sports, which came out to be about an 8 pound savings per wheel and tire combo compared to stock.
Besides that I was fill interior minus the junk in the trunk. The car is a 93 Prelude Vtec so it came stock with the H22, which now has 75,000 miles on it. So heres what the slip looked like...
1/4 Mile ET: 14.134
1/4 Mile MPH: 100.5
1/8 Mile ET: 8.956
1/8 Mile MPH: 80.040
0-60 Foot ET: 2.098
Temperature F: 65.0

If you were asking me, I take it up to about 5-5500 and just slip it. I stay in vtec the whole run, including the launch
EDIT:Thought I should mention Vtec is set at 4,800
EDIT AGAIN: To the OP, If you get that VAFC tuned and an H22 trans we'll probably be running very similar times

Yeah that trans sucks. People say they are too similar to be a diffrence in performance. But I disagree. I have an H23 trans and 2nd gear is waaaay to long. You can just barely touch 4th gear through the traps. I think an H22 trans (especially a M2F4 ) would help alot.

sounds to me that you're dumping the clutch as opposed to slipping it. release the clutch slower and get that 60 foot down to at least a 2.2 and you'll be in the mid 15s.

Good times bro, keep it up.
to BB racers.
My best is a 14.315@96.62 (Open-diff club)
My Setup:
Power: AEM CAI/S2 IM/Hondata IM Gasket/Type One Racing Header(2.36'' collector), 2.25'' Test Pipe, 2.25'' Thermal Exhaust, Hondata S200 on a P28. Dynoed around 188WHP/140TQ
Suspension:TEIN SS Coilovers(set at 10/16),Stock Wheels,Falken Ziex 512 tires(set at 24psi/40psi).
Transmission: Stock Tranny, Clutch, and Flywheel.
Weight Reduction: I have stripped out the back of my car. The weight reduced from the items taken out is 117lbs, factor in another 15lbs for lighter I/H/E and that comes to 132lbs. So the curb weight from 2950 is now 2817. At my local tracks scale my car weighed in at 2900lbs w/driver. This was with enough gas for 4 passes

The first time I ran I absolutely dumped it and pulled a 2.62, but I still ran a 15.92 something at like 89.9. Then I tried it a little different and pulled a 2.4x and still ran an 15.98 @ 88.4. I'll be going again soon.
