ABS light on 00 GSR
Hey, i have an abs light on for the rear left wheel sensor. Turns out the caliper there was seized up and the sensor was full of brake dust so i figure that is why the light is on. I got everything fixed up there now but the light is still on. Does the code need to be cleared for it to stop coming on? and if so how do i clear it?
It is a 2000 model. When i searched i could only find info on how to clear the abs codes from earlier model integras.

Nevermind i just found the info. I'll just post it for future searching references anyway.
For the 1998 and up model you need to with the jumper wire still installed and the ignition off, press on the brake pedal and then turn the ignition on. When the ABS indicator light goes out, release the brake pedal until the light comes on again and press on the brake pedal. Hold the pedal down until the indicator light goes out and release the pedal. The indicator light should blink twice to indicate that the codes are erased. Turn off the ignition, remove the jumper wire and plug in the service check connector.

Ok i did it and after the abs light blinks twice to indicate the codes have been cleared, it comes right back on again. So i guess i need to replace that sensor?

Yeah i was checking ebay and most sellers are selling good working order abs sensors for under $20, so thats not bad at all. The one i need is not on there though
Check the impedance of the LR wheel sensor. That will tell you if it is bad. You can find the spec in the Helm manual. (I recall that it should be about 900ohms.) Search google for "hondahookup manuals" if you do not have one.

It will work. You can check part numbers here:

For some reason, Honda changed the part number only for the LR wheel sensor. The RR sensor is the same, so the LR should be compatable.
When I replaced my LR sensor on my 97 GSR, I bought a new sensor. It was kind of a pain in the butt to change because my LCA bolts were seized. Unless you are getting the used sensor cheap, you should consider that it may fail sooner than a new one.

I think it was $105. I purchased it from hondaautomotiveparts.com, as they had the cheapest price that I could find. It would be nice if just the end of the sensor could be replaced, but the sensor was much shielding and mounting points on it to fit the suspension.
