Default obd2b dx to ob1 b16

ive searched everything and its all obd1 to obd2 and such. well im going the other way, but i havent found an answer anywhere. my car is an obd2b dx and the complete swap i want to do is a jdm obd1 b16. now ive read about size differences on the dizzy plugs, i believe, from the different year wiring harnesses. so if i dont want to do some cutting n whatever, would an obd1 ex harness be correct in helping me cheat a bit? thanks

Yeah i am not 100% but the ex harness should would you will just need well i guess that may be it if your using and obd1 ecu. You should just have to play with a few vtec wires.

The EX harness won't work from OBD1 since the OBD1 harnesses used a 2 piece set up that plugs in at the shock tower. The best way to do it would be just to add the needed wires (knock sensor, vtec pressure switch, vtec solenoid, 3 to 2 wire IACV wiring, 4 wire O2 extension) and just swap over plugs for the dizzy and injectors. I've never got a straight answer if the OBD2 EX/SI harness that is one piece is connected to the dash harness some how but I suppose it is so it wouldn't just "swap" over to yours.

I have a 2000 ex and I swapped an obd1 b16a2 in I used my ex harness since it already had the vtec stuff I needed all I had to do was rewire the alternator and injectors and then used a boomslang harness adapter that plugs the harness inside the car in to the obd1 ecu if I remember correctly it was about 100 dollars. If you have any other question about my swap feel free to ask.
