Default Need help with oem honda cd player

I just got a 96-98 oem cd player (the one by the cupholder area) and it seems to skip with even the slightest bump. I already searched and I found that it could be my lens but I just cleaned it with a cd lens cleaner. Maybe I didn't bolt it up tight enough or something? Can anyone else with one of these cd players give me some help? thanks

the mech could be knocked out of alignment...this could have happened when it was removed....the cd cleaner has nothing to do with the alignment...they can actually do more damage by sliding dust accross the lens and scratching it..the best thing to do is buy an aftermarket, it would cost more to fix it then its worth...but if your going for the stock look i think i few stock cd players laying around if you interested let me know...

if I hit the top of the cd player case it doesn't skip, but if I hit it from the side or I go over a bump it will skip

i think the alignment is off...the cd player itself is mounted on "shocks" ment to absorb some of the impact, but if its misaligned it will skip...

open it up you may have some dust buildup on the shocks preventing the shocks to move as they should?

Try cleaning the pins on the DIN cable and the socket on the stock deck. When I first installed my CD player, it didn't light up. I cleaned it all, and it worked like a charm. Actually skips less now.
