Default Injector question, could be serious

I have a B16A swapped into an 89 si. One injector was bad from the swap, flow pin was snapped off(not sure how). Bought an injector for a B16A2, was slightly different on electrical connection but it fits and flows.

question is, when i test to see if the injectors are working (unplug them one at a time) i get NO change in idle from the new injector. Rough idle and running up to 2500 rpm, smooth and very strong after that point.
Once the car is warm idle drops way way down to 300-500rpm.

is the injector bad?
is this damaging my car?
anything i can do aside from buying a new set of injectors?
never encountered this before.

is your b16 obdo with a resistor box and you used a b16a2 obd1 injector, by the way you described the clip thats what you have and it wont work, you need obdo injector, like a stock crx/civic si or 90-91 integra injector

so the injector that is in there wont work?

wrong impedance?

could he run one 12 volt positive to just that injector? aren't the other colored wires all ground triggers from the ecu? I cant see why that would not work.

Would this help me out?

OBD1 injector pin swap/removal-How-to « » 3:24 AM 1/9/2004 Reply Edit

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After many frustrating days with NO success. I FINALLY figured out how to get the pins out of the OBD1 injector clips. Without cutting and splicing. .
If I had a digicam, I'd post pix. But I don't, so you'll have to make due with my descriptions.
#1 You'll see a clear plastic post sticking out of the top of the rubber plug, on the wire-side of the OBD1 injector clip.
#2 Remove the black rubber plug from the back of the OBD1 injector clip.
#3 If plastic pin doesn't come out with rubber plug, pull on it gently with a pliers. It is used as a locking mechanism to hold injector wire pins inside the clips tightly and securely, so they can't be pulled out.
#4 Once the rubber plug and the clear plastic locking collar are removed the injector pins can be freed from the the clip in the usual manner, with a small flat pointed tool, inserted into the open pin side of the clip.
#5 You'll also need to remove the OBD1 injector clips rear rubber plug, as it's not compatible with the OBD0 one.(OBD1 has a hole for the locking collar tab, OBD0, does NOT) I sliced the rubber plugs open and then squeezed them over the injector wires on the OBD0 engine harness.
Hope this helps anyone who needs to change their injector clips from OBD0 to OBD1/2
And thanks, VTECVillain, for all the help so far.

OBD0 injectors are low impedance and OBD1 are high impedance, as far as I know the can't work together, just measure the resistance, you'll see.
