You could pass it as a replacement motor. Same with the SOHC ZC but same rules apply, same year or newer and all smog stuff.

 

do you have to go anywhere special, or just tell the smog station that its a replacement motor?

 

Majority of the time smog check wont say anything and just do it as is. You could go to a state ref and get a BAR sticker for the replacement but i dont think its worth it when its a replacement. If its a B/H/K then yea i would BAR it.
