Default Stock ITR?

Hi,

Just wondering, how many people here have left their R stock from the day they recieved it? I like my ITR the way it came from the factory and wouldn't have it any other way.

I see, I hear you though. JDM, Spoon, and Mugen are nice. I just figured since my ITR is originally USDM, I might as well leave it that way. I kept wanting a JDM front for the longest time but relized: A) If just the front was done the paint would never be original and may not match. B) It is still a USDM ITR no matter what. If I could, I would just get a true RHD ITR but they are so hard to register legitimately. Sounds kinda wierd but I am paranoid.

I love the car as is.... perfect except for power. I have been debating boosting it forever, but its still stock and always been that way.

yeah sometimes I want more power. When you have a car that 8-80 year olds look at in awe and a Chrysler 300m walks you, kinda sucks. oh well overall our cars kick ***, ill miss mine

I was young when I got my car so modding only seemed natural. Now Im older I realize the car is just awesome factory. Plus the value holds a little better.

My drivetrain is totally stock. Slap on some R compound tires and it's perfect for the racetrack!

I could not do it. I started moding when I got my home from the lot.

I held of for three years and then boosted it. I loved the power. After that I started getting into autocrossing. Then I wished I would have spent the money else were. I had to run in Street Modified and I would mostly get killed. I could not afford the slicks that the other cars were burning through (2 sets per season). Ohwell, I did win one event that was in the rain! I would also have the car heat up on me with the longer courses.

Just my thoughts but either way the biggest mistake was selling it.

*raises hand* Stock from day one.

I got the modding bug outta my system (at least when it comes to wanting to mod the R) with my previous car. One of the main reasons for getting the R was to leave it the way the Honda engineered it. All production cars are a compromise, but the ITR is less so than most.

Leave the R alone and get a sport bike.

Add another one to the list.

Although I've heavily contemplated changing the exhaust and air filter as of late

If mine was stock when I got it, with lower mileage, it'd stay stock... But it had higher miles, and was already modified quite tastefully, so I decided to just go with it, and have fun.

I do, however, plan on purchasing a stock Type-R in the near future as a collector item, and to drive once in a while. Preferably a '97... We'll see though.

I have kept my drivetrain stock except for bolt ons, the majority of my money spent on the car has gone to JDM items, I guess the way I see it, if I buy something rare for my car I should be able to sell it for the same price, of not more, in a couple of years. I wish I had 20-30 more HP but I'm okay with how it is stock, it's a joy to take on the track and to autocross. I think when she hits 150k miles I might do an engine rebuild with JRSC.. who knows

when stuff needs repalcing it will be aftermarket
When i got it the stock shokcs where toast, so on when Koni yellows
the air filter needed changing, on when a comptech filter
The car could use a bit mroe power, but screw it. If i wanted to mod a car i would have gotten a GSR and modded the snot outta that

Got mine used and it was modded, went back to stock to keep things simple.

I think the ITR is VERY good in OEM form
