Default question about the bar in the trunk...

Huge question... what's that one bar that's in the trunk of ITR's(or at least it was in the trunk of my ITR). Color is gray and it was bolted to the rear of the trunk...is not a rear strut bar...I just want to know what's that for and what's it called... can I sell that? How much? thanks guys...

Did they come on all year ITRs? Is it behind the black siding that covers the rear tail lights?

The bar is in front of the black siding (it is visible in the trunk). The salesman at my dealership told me it only came on the later itrs, but he may have been full of crap.

You can make one of these for virtually no money by flattening the ends of a piece of electrical conduit / steel tube and drilling holes. I did this for my 97 GSR - note that all G3's have the mounting holes.

It sits right on top of the trunk mat and is very visible once you open the hatch.

The provisions for the ITR rear trunk wall brace are different from other G3's. The holes are further apart on other models.

It's on there. At least when I had her, it was there. Maybe try lifting up the spare tire cover and you should see the grey bay.

**EDIT: You can kind of see it on the bottom of this pic of the trunk.
