My Teg: Speaker Swap
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, just wasn't sure if it belongs in here or Audio. Just did a speaker swap on my '94 DC4 and wanted to share.
Anyway, since I got the car at the end of September, when ever I was playing music I could hear a rattling and buzzing coming from the rear speakers so I decided it's time to replace them. With these:
Sony Xplod 6.5" 270W Peak, 55W Power Rated

I pulled the interior panels to get at the speakers:

Then I met these little guys:

After a snipping the top harnesses off, stripping the wires and doing a little splicing and double checking the speakers are working properly I mounted them:

Triple checked that they worked, then put everything back together, and no, I did not put those Xplod grills on the speakers (Shown above).

Came home from the shop and took a peak at the old speakers. They were pretty bad.

I'm accompanying those speakers with:

While I was replacing the speakers, I also did a wee bit of wire hiding with the amp and subs. Still need to hide the ground power and speaker wires a little bit better but check it out:
Before:

After:

Sorry some of the pictures are pretty shitty quality but I just ran outside and took them, its Cold and dark.
Whats your opinion?
?
?
I'll try to get a sound clip on here for you guys, its pretty clear. Any song requests?

Really? Cuz I've had the amp and subs for about 3.5 months now and haven't had a single problem.
I know there's better speakers, but these are the best I can afford at the moment.

Give the Xplod's a try, don't mind all the haters, they are decent quality. Also they're cheap, so it's not like it'll break the bank if you don't like them. Decent resale price so you could probably sell it to a friend whos lookin for a little enhancement for their music. Which is what i want. I'm not lookin to displace earth as I drive around, so they do quite well.
