Polk DB or Infinity reference?
I'm going to upgrade my stock speakers in my 4 door teg (6.5 up front, 6x9 in rear) and i've been going between getting the polk db or infinity reference system.
I've heard the polks in person and they sounded good, never heard the infinitys but everything i hear about them is good.
So, which would you guys go with?
Btw they would all be coaxials, not enough money for components
and they would have a small alpine amp (35wx4) to give them a lil more power.

i have heard both, i would choose the infinity over the polks. theyre balanced out meaning the highs arent over the mids and the mids arent over the highs.
i have all inf reference speakers and component in my 4 door teg and i dont really like it. The reason why those speakers are in my car because i got 'em for so cheap, $170 for the front 6.5" components and 2 6x9s rear (brand new of course). However if u have $$ get image dynamics, mb quart q-series or focal. If money is an issue then stick with those inf references, polk audio, boston acoustics or u can get some crystal components for dirt cheap online, i have heard nothing but good reviews about 'em.

I don't have a lot of cash to spend, I'm trying to keep it around $300 for front and rear speakers + headunit. I was going to buy everything from crutchfield since their prices seem good, but maybe you guys know a better place to buy from?
I've been leaning toward the polks just cause i've heard them in person and haven't heard the infinity's but so far positive opinions on both. What don't you like about the inf's BlazinTeg?
Thanks for the info so far guys, im new here on honda-tech.

Crutchfield has geat customer service and are very willing to "help" you out, but there prices are not that good. With a little searching, you can find MUCH better deals. You can get the Infinity Reference 6.5"'s components (6000 CS) for about $110 - $120 shipped if you look a little. If you are daring, you could even go the ebay route and maybe even get them a little cheaper. Good luck!
A good place to start your search IMO is
http://www.pricegrabber.com or
http://www.epinions.com
Type in what you are looking for and they give you a bunch of places that sell it and what they sell it for.
Then you could go to
http://www.sounddomain.com/shop
This is a good place to get things from because they offer a 105% price match guarantee.
There are many other sites that sell componets cheap........here are a few

I have polk components...I think they are ex series and I really like them
you can get the infinity reference 6 1/2's on ebay for under 100...most of them are open box, but I've seen them and there wasnt anything wrong with the set my friend picked up

With an amp, the Polks will have slightly more bass, but a harsher tweeter than the Infinitys. But, it's up to you what sounds best. Go somewhere that has both and listen to them and compare. Pick which ones you think sound better.

If you are not going to be running a sub, I would probably go with the Polk's. I think the Infinitys have nice, clean highs, but no bass at all.
