What dose the green key light mean? My car has been recently stalling on me and i wonder if that has anything to do with it.

 

the green keylight is the imobilizer.

 

what does that do. My key is NOT a stock honda key. Could that be part of my problem.

 

i can't remember if the 5thgens have keys with chips in them.. sorry man maybe a 5thgenner will chime in

yes my 5th gen key does have a chip

 

5TH gen had a Honda recall on the ignition switches, if you havn't had it done you can book into the dealers for a new ignition switch fitted for free, under a safety recall because they kept cutting out.

 

my car is a salvage title and they said they would not replace for free. Is that a bunch of **** or what


Also, Is that green key light suppose to come on when I first turn the key and when I take the key out?

 

my 5th gen lights up when i start car, and after I shut car off, if car stalls that light isn't on, is yours on when it stalls???

 

There is one solid flash when I start it and 4 flashes after it stalls and when I shout the car off. When It stalls it is like I just turned the key back.... but didn't

 

yea, it has something to do with the immboliser, are you using the right programmed key? if you are you might be experiencing problems with the ignition switch
