i have a 89 hatch... it has a d15 with a d16a6 head w/ si tranny. Still running dpfi... But i am guessing the tank is around 10 gal or so but i am lucky if i am getting 230 miles out of the tank... tell me whats wrong. cant drive in fifth much cause it will bog if i am not over 80. it will do 88 in second though ha ha!!

 

Don't do 88 in second . Could be a number of things: are you still running the DPFI ECU? Bad O2 sensor, fuel injectors, filter, pump, spark plugs, air filter. You should be getting at least 30mpg if you don't drive like an idiot.

 

88 in secnd isnt even in the redline but thats very rarely..... but anyways... plugs are good but a while back i ahd a bad vacuum leak to the map sensor but thats fixed now.... salted the motor... new plugs runs great but real sluggish on hot days to about 3500 rpm... who ever owned it before me had an safc on it. and yes it is running a pm5 ecu...

 

i am thinking leaky injector??? Possible???

88 in second? Wow, thas crazy, my dohc zc wont even got to 88 in second, only around 75 or so before it shuts me down. Thats nuts!!!

 

bad for gas mileage though... i cant top out third... still have two more gears after that...

timing, spark plugs, rotor, cap. too low an octane? no tune? ecu throwing codes?

 

timing is good, could use new cap and rotor though plus wires.... but not throwing codes and no the ecu is not tuned... stock ef ecu

 

how do u reset the ecu on this..... tried searching to no avail

 

open hood, go to fusebox. pull out hazard fuse, and keep out for 1 min. replace fuse. start car.
